The Shanghai Boom EDI (Electrodeionization) system, also known as continuous electrodeionization technology, is an advanced ultrapure water treatment process that emerged in the 1990s. It integrates electrodialysis technology with ion exchange technology to achieve deep water purification and continuous demineralization.
Through the selective permeation of cation and anion exchange membranes and the ion exchange function of resin, dissolved ions in water are continuously removed under an electric field. Ions migrate directionally through the membrane system, achieving efficient desalination and ultrapure water production. At the same time, water dissociation generates H⁺ and OH⁻ ions, which continuously regenerate the ion exchange resin without chemical agents.
This process enables continuous production of high-quality ultrapure water without the need for acid or alkali regeneration. It features advanced technology, a compact and well-designed structure, and easy operation, making it an environmentally friendly water treatment solution.
